Please note that much of my portfolio is company-confidential. In lieu of screenshots, I have included process write-ups, diagrams, and links to public product pages.

Parsons Product Highlights

I’ve had the opportunity to contribute to numerous projects at Parsons, ranging from Power-User tools to marketing applications. Below are a few product highlights and short stories about how I’ve contributed towards them.

Cyber Tool

I worked on general UX and UI guidelines for developers during the early phases of product development. I established the information architecture & designed UI mockups based on tasks & workflows derived from task analysis research.

Smart City Platform

As a product with decades of history, iNet is an advanced, power-user tool with numerous capabilities and a seasoned user base. My contribution to iNet is the modernization and redesign of the platform based around optimizing User workflows. It started with an analysis of common frustrations and confusions, and continues with task and workflow design. While analysis is ongoing, several phases of low-to-medium fidelity mockups have been designed as jumping-off points for ideation sessions; mockups have also served as a tool to receive feedback on workflows.

Work is ongoing.

Smart Rail Controls

The UX team was provided with the task of rapidly rethinking the RailPulse experience to present as a proof-of-concept to stakeholders based on data gathered by the project managers. We did not have access to Users, and had a limited time window.

I had the opportunity to optimize the navigation architecture and modernize the UI while mentoring a junior designer on my team. We applied Nielsen’s 10 usability heuristics, prepared a report, and proposed solutions to numerous issues in the system with newly designed mockups. We then proceeded to design a “vertical slice” of a few workflows with a new, modern design. The proof-of-concept was positively received and future improvements are in the works!

Legacy Projects & Case Studies

These are some older projects I’d worked on during my education. While these projects may not reflect my current knowledge or skills, I think it’s important to show these as a starting point for my UX Design work.

  • During my time in grad school, I used a Surface as my main computer, and an iPhone on the go. During times of research, I wanted an easy way to keep clippings of text, images, links, and more in a centralized location. Today, there are numerous universal clipboard or productivity apps that allow for continuity of these types of data, but at the time I didn’t know of anything that did what I wanted.

Check out the Cortana Clipboard Concept.

  • Jasper was a trip-tracking app with information for each person on a trip.

  • The Policy Circle app provided a place for women to meet and discuss issues, and form groups (“Circles”) for topical discussions.

  • The Health Care Game project tasked us with designing a user experience for players of an educational game designed to simulate real-world health care policy.

  • The goal of the Seizure Patient Data Sheet was to provide a clear and focused overview of patient data that is modular and scalable (a design that would be easily implemented to different mediums in the future - mobile, tablet, desktop, etc.).

The catch, though, was that the design had to work in printed form as well.
